About HealthShare/THA

In 1969, Health Services Corporation (HSC), was created by the Texas Hospital Association to develop and provide critical management and operational services to hospitals throughout the state. For 19 years, HSC helped hospitals with in-house programs like staffing, productivity, workload analysis, manager and supervisor training, equipment repair and testing, and engineering challenges with minimal outsourced endorsements.

1988 was a year for significant THA reorganization; HSC's name was changed to HealthShare/THA, and a new approach was implemented.

While continuing to offer quality in-house services, HealthShare/THA increased efforts to identify services and products from outside providers which would help Texas hospitals and health care organizations do what they do better. An improved process for evaluating companies and their services was developed.

Through this process of due diligence, HealthShare/THA staff performed the necessary evaluation and analysis, followed by approval and endorsement by the HealthShare/THA Board of Directors. A routine, periodic evaluation process during the partnership assured Texas health care facilities that every endorsed company met and maintained the rigid standards of quality and service required to sustain this endorsement.
