National Hospital Week May 6-12, 2007
Care You Count On. People You Trust.
The first National Hospital Day was celebrated on May 12, 1921, Florence Nightingale's birthday, following the deadliest epidemic inUS history - the Spanish flu, which killed more than 600,000 Americans. Today, the event has become a week-long celebration marking the fact that hospitals are foundations of their communities. Our hospitals admit nearly 37 million patients a year, treat another 117 million in emergency departments, and another 545 million on an outpatient basis. Hospitals are multi-dimensional facilities covering every area of specialization, focusing on wellness and the overall health of their communities.
More than 750,000 products - from note cards to t-shirts, tote bags, balloons, tumblers and more, most of which can be personalized - are available from our endorsed provider,Bells Select, to help make your celebration meaningful and remembered. Request a product guide by mail, download product and planning guide at imprintmall.com/hospitalweek/history1.html, or call 800/822-1923 or call us at 800/252-9404. This important event is sponsored by the American Hospital Association and yours truly, HealthShare/THA.

PROFILES
Texas Physician Friendly
The February 2007 issue of Physicians Practice, a leading practice management journal, includes "The Best States to Practice: America's Physician-Friendliest States." Naturally, Texas made the list. The state's overall pro-business climate and recent legislation establishing caps on noneconomic damages in malpractice were cited by the article. And while those practicing in poorer regions of our vast state face greater challenges, taken as a whole, Texas ranks as the country's third-least-expensive state in which to live. In the article, Kurt Mosley, vice president of business development for HealthShare/THA-endorsed Merritt Hawkins physician recruiting firm, says more physicians than ever are relocating - many to Texas.
